Grapple Quality

AR400F working steel, securely routed hoses, greasable pivots, and the right fit for your machine. Our grapples bring practical details together for demanding work and dependable upkeep.

Built into ANBO grapples

Details that keep your grapple working.

Look beyond steel thickness. Hose protection, moving joints, hydraulic components, and fitment all contribute to how a grapple works on your machine.

Secure hose routing

The hoses on our hydraulic grapples are securely routed along the back side of the grapple, helping keep them away from brush, logs, and the material being handled. Protected routing helps reduce snagging and unnecessary hose exposure during work.

Dual hydraulic cylinders

Our hydraulic grapples use dual hydraulic cylinders for strong, even clamping power and dependable grip through demanding cleanup work.

Greasable pivot points

Greasable pivot points support routine lubrication of the moving joints, helping keep the grapple operating smoothly through repeated opening and closing.

Protected hydraulic components

Cylinder guards, hose channels, and protected routing help shield the hydraulic components on our grapples from brush, logs, and debris as the grapple opens and closes.

Machine-matched fitment

ANBO helps confirm machine type, horsepower, loader capacity, mount, feedlines, and couplers before finalizing your setup. The right fit connects the grapple’s capability to the machine carrying it.

Replacement parts support

Replacement pins, bushings, hydraulic cylinders, and cylinder seal kits help keep existing attachments serviceable. Our team helps identify the right replacement parts for your ANBO attachment.

Strength without dead weight

Thicker Steel does not always mean stronger.

Some manufacturers add excessive steel thickness or bracing to compensate for lower-grade steel. That adds weight your machine must lift before it ever picks up material.

Higher-strength steel allows an attachment to deliver serious working strength without relying on unnecessary bulk. The result is more of your machine’s capacity available for the work.

Lower-grade approach

More bulk before the load

Added thickness can increase the dead weight the loader carries all day. Which not only limits what you can lift but also wears on your machine.

ANBO approach

strength from the ground up

High-strength steel as the base for the attachment helps preserve usable capacity for the material being moved.

Interactive steel comparison

See the strength difference.

Compare steels commonly used in attachment structures, tines, edges, and high-wear areas. The bars use the same scale, so the difference is easy to see.

Typical value

AR400F

4.2×the published yield figure of A36

A through-hardened, abrasion-resistant steel selected for its balance of strength, wear resistance, impact toughness, formability, and weldability.

What this shows: Yield strength is the stress at which steel begins to deform permanently. These published material figures compare equal cross-sections—not completed attachments. Plate thickness, geometry, welds, heat treatment, and fitment still affect real attachment performance. Values can vary by thickness and mill; the material test report is the final authority.

Reference values: AISC published minimum yield strength for A36 and A572 Grade 50; SSAB minimum yield strength for A514 plate up to 2.5 inches; SSAB published typical yield strength for AR400F.

USA-sourced steel

Why ANBO uses AR400F.

The hardest steel is not automatically the best steel for every job. ANBO uses AR400F because it balances the properties a hard-working attachment needs.

01

Wear resistance

Built to stand up to repeated contact with brush, roots, rock, soil, and debris.

02

Impact toughness

Designed for demanding work where tines and edges see sudden, concentrated loads.

03

Formability

Its combination of formability and toughness helps the steel flex slighlty, under severe load without cracking as readily as a more brittle material. If it does bend, it can often be repaired rather than snapping

04

Weldability

Supports dependable fabrication and quality welds when handled with the right process.

Questions worth asking

Before you buy an attachment.

A product’s weight or steel thickness cannot tell the full story. Ask for the steel grade and look at how the entire attachment is engineered.

Compare ANBO attachments
  • What grade of steel is used in the working tines and high-wear areas?
  • Is extra thickness being used to compensate for a lower-strength steel?
  • How much of the machine’s lift capacity will the attachment consume?
  • Are the pivots, hoses, cylinders, and wear points easy to service?
  • Are the hydraulic hoses securely routed away from the material being handled?
  • Was the mount geometry designed for the machine it will be installed on?
Let’s match strength to the machine.
